Feathered friends for life.

At Morrison’s, we understand the wellness that being in nature provides. We know that a great garden is one that engages all of the senses and nothing beats birdsong on a sunny day. Enjoying wild birds goes hand in hand with enjoying the garden and for us, providing supplies for the wild bird enthusiast is a natural extension of the garden and pet supplies we already carry.

Starting out with backyard birding can be as easy as putting out a bird feeder filled with an all-purpose seed to attract a variety of birds. Alongside the basics, we carry birdfeeders of every shape, size, design, and purpose. Beyond all-purpose seed, we stock premium options including fruit and nut blends, hearty blends to attract large birds like woodpeckers, fine thistle seed preferred by finches, whole peanuts and so much more.

If you’ve fed birds before, you know that squirrels aren’t far behind. Morrison’s stocks a multitude of squirrel-resistant feeders and baffles, plus spicy birdseed that squirrels would rather not eat (but birds love just the same). If the squirrels are welcome at your backyard feeders, consider adding something just for them. We carry whole corn cobs, in-shell peanuts, and other snacks that squirrels and chipmunks love.

Inviting birds to your backyard goes beyond food, it’s also important to provide shelter and water. We have many styles of birdhouses (even bat houses) and weather shields to protect birds and help them feel safe. Our glazed ceramic and concrete birdbaths are attractive, timeless pieces that go beyond function—they can be used to add structure to a garden bed. Remember that birds still need access to water during the winter, we carry birdbath heaters to make it easy to provide water for birds year-round.

If you’re a gardener, entice birds to your yard by taking their needs into consideration. Birds need cover to feel safe, dense evergreen trees and shrubs provide shelter and places to nest. Use native plants like winterberry and dogwood to easily supply birds with fruit and berries. Perennials such as coneflower and black-eyed Susan produce seed heads favored by birds. Feed hummingbirds without the mess and maintenance of a feeder by planting flowers that they love.

Whether you’re a beginner bird feeder or you’ve been at this a long time, we have supplies and advice to make your yard a birding paradise.
